Nothing hits harder than the end of summer. But we know that if there’s one thing our city knows best, it’s making a cloudy weekend into a party we hope will hold you till the rising side of spring break. So while you pull out the pea coats and start dreaming of winter ales, we here at La-Ti-Da Records are proud to announce The Fall Down/Get Down!
Nov 1-3rd, The Fall Down/Get Down is mult-venue wristbanded event taking place across East Vancouver. We’ve gathered a couple dozen of our favorite bands, artists and djs for three nights of good cuts, good times, and good company.
Joining us from the Motor City, Drag City recording artists and proto-punk legends Death make a jawdroppingly rare appearance, as do west coast freakbeat legends Powder. Portland-based party animals Mean Jeans, Santa Cruz’s The Wild Ones, Oakland’s Warm Soda, Olympia’s The Maxines, and Tiger High from Memphis, TN all round out our import acts.
We are also proud to launch the month long exhibit ”Your Town, Any Town: visual thoughts by Tim Kerr…Your Name Here” at Antisocial Skate Shop.
The Fall Down/Get Down boasts a cross section of our family of artists, such as The Ballantynes and Needles//Pins through to hometown heroes like The Evaporators and The Pointed Sticks.
Speaking of the Pointed Sticks, there will be some big news out of their camp today. Respectfully, that is there news to share. In the meantime, we’re proud to announce that wristband holders will recieve a limited edition Pointed Sticks Christmas 45 with every wristband purchase.
Planning on coming from out of town? Howard Johnson Kingsway in Mount Pleasant is an official partner. Use the promo code “latida” to receive a 10% discount on their already dirt cheap off-season room rates.
Massive thanks to our partners and sponsors at The Georgia Straight, Color Magazine, Beat Route Magazine, CiTR radio, Discorder Magazine, Howard Johnson Kingsway, Budgies Burritos and Steam Whistle Brewery.
Tickets can be purchased online immediately on our website, and will be released in retail locations in coming weeks, but we recommend you don’t hibernate on these.
Come Fall Down/Get Down with La Ti Da! Hope to see you this November!
