Brett Kilroe is one of the most prolific graphic designers and art directors in the music industry. A guy who, straight out of art school in Calgary, Alberta, landed in New York and cut his teeth by creating one of the most iconic album covers in the history of hip-hop: Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s Return To The 36 Chambers. This kickstarted a career that has spanned over two decades, having helped create the visual identities of such notables as The Strokes, Kings of Leon, and Alabama Shakes, and earning himself a Grammy nod in the process.

Achievements aside, he also happens to be one of the sweetest, humblest, most benevolent people you would ever be so lucky to count amongst your friends.

Brett has bravely fought Stage IV colorectal cancer for the past 3 years, a battle which has left one hell of a financial wake. Friends and family from across North America—immediate, extended and musical—are banding together to ease the burden so Brett can stay focused on the task at hand.

You can donate directly to Brett’s Sweet Relief page, where 93% of donations will go directly to getting Brett back on his feet:

La Ti Da Records is doing its bit by offering up a premium: for a donation of $20 or more, you will receive one of 70 limited edition 7” vinyl records, silkscreened with the I HEART BK logo. To keep all proceeds flowing directly to the fund rather than record production, this limited edition run will be culled from existing overrun records and sleeves, tailored exclusively for Brett’s campaign. The more you donate, the more goodies we’ll throw in for good measure.

These records can be purchased directly on our Band Camp page while supplies last.

Alternately, you can make mention of the single when donating directly to the Sweet Relief site, and we’ll catch your order on the backend.

We love BK. Spread the word. Let’s do this.
