Back to Civilization, but Still Out of Control….

On behalf of The Ballantynes, a big thanks to everyone who made Squamish such a great time! Shout outs to Gumby and the wine-smoothie chick! Day-makers for sure.

Tons of recaps to kill your coffee break: Vancouver Sun, Georgia Straight, and the Vancouver Weekly all weighing in.

And speaking of loveable characters from our youth, are we in Pee Wee’s Playhouse? Cause I swear the word of the day is FESTIVALS!

Next stop? Victoria, BC for Rifflandia 2013!

A whole pack of us are getting together for a big LA-TI-DA party and SHOWCASE Saturday, September 14th at the Victoria Events Centre: Needles//Pins, The Ballantynes, and all the way from Brooklyn, NY, The Jay Vons! Doors at 8:30 PM.

If you’ve doing the wristband or night pass thing, we recommend getting down there early; if previous years at VEC are any indication, it’s going to be a busy, busy night.

Then grab whatever soothes your hang over and hit Royal Athletic Park at NOON on Sunday, September 15th where The Ballantynes will be warming up the MAIN STAGE for dudes like Big Boi and Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros.

We coudn’t be more excited for Riff. Of the many, many logs in the proverbial campfire this summer, this one burns pretty bright.

Burning bright? Burning out? Out of our minds? WE MUST BE because the ball is rolling for FALL DOWN / GET DOWN 2013 November 14th-17th! We’ve set the dates, mark them on your calendars, and we promise all will be revealed soon!

Stay tuned, because we’ve got MORE EXCITING LA-TI-DA ANNOUNCEMENTS coming this month!

Fall Down/Get Down Schedule Update

Hot on the heels of last week’s additions of King Dude, Two Towns, Bad Channels, The Gooeys, The Mandates, Korean Gut and Capitol6, we’ve got more good friends joining the fray! Jody Glenham joins the Lanalou’s bill on Nov 2nd! Chains of Love get back from tour in time to join the big Pointed Sticks farewell show on Nov 3rd!

We’d also like to thank Dandelion Records for joining our list of wristband vendors. Stoked to have them on board.

REMEMBER: there are no advanced tickets for individual events. Buy your wristband or come early!

FD/GD: The Schedule!

So there you have it: a timetable staggered to keep you hopping around just long enough to empty those brown bags between venues, with little risk of missing much of the fun.

The easiest way to secure a wristband is through our online shopping cart. Forty bucks, no service charge, no muss, no fuss. Your name will be added to our will call list and you can grab your wristband the week of the event. Paypal balance, e-check and credit cards accepted.

For those of you who’d rather stick to cash, we will have tickets on sale tomorrow at Antisocial, Neptoon, Red Cat, and Zulu. These numbered tickets can then be exchanged for wristbands the week of the event. Basic.

For those of you who have already grabbed yours, we thank you. Pretty damn great to see such a large out of town contingent coming for this. Between the wtf-edness of bringing in Death for the Friday night and the poignancy of this being the Pointed Sticks last show on the Saturday, we are heading for a sellout.

So without getting all Willy Wonka about it, don’t sleep on this. Get a wristband this week. Remember that all wristbands come with a limited edition Pointed Sticks Christmas single: our way of saying thanks.

We’d like to once again thank our sponsors: The Georgia Straight, Steam Whistle Brewery, Beat Route Magazine, Color magazineCiTR, Budgie’s Burritos and Howard Johnson Kingsway.

Howard Johnson are offering a discount off their already ridiculously low room rates. Use the promo code “latida” for 10% off!

Speaking of 10% off, that’s what your wristband will get you at Neptoon Records all weekend long.

Don’t say we don’t take care of ya.

The Fall Down/Get Down. Nov 1st-3rd, Vancouver BC

Nothing hits harder than the end of summer. But we know that if there’s one thing our city knows best, it’s making a cloudy weekend into a party we hope will hold you till the rising side of spring break. So while you pull out the pea coats and start dreaming of winter ales, we here at La-Ti-Da Records are proud to announce The Fall Down/Get Down!

Nov 1-3rd, The Fall Down/Get Down is mult-venue wristbanded event taking place across East Vancouver. We’ve gathered a couple dozen of our favorite bands, artists and djs for three nights of good cuts, good times, and good company.

Joining us from the Motor City, Drag City recording artists and proto-punk legends Death make a jawdroppingly rare appearance, as do west coast freakbeat legends Powder. Portland-based party animals Mean Jeans, Santa Cruz’s The Wild Ones, Oakland’s Warm Soda, Olympia’s The Maxines, and Tiger High from Memphis, TN all round out our import acts.

We are also proud to launch the month long exhibit  “Your Town, Any Town: visual thoughts by Tim Kerr…Your Name Here” at Antisocial Skate Shop.

The Fall Down/Get Down boasts a cross section of our family of artists, such as The Ballantynes and Needles//Pins through to hometown heroes like The Evaporators and The Pointed Sticks.

Speaking of the Pointed Sticks, there will be some big news out of their camp today. Respectfully, that is there news to share. In the meantime, we’re proud to announce that wristband holders will recieve a limited edition Pointed Sticks Christmas 45 with every wristband purchase.

Planning on coming from out of town? Howard Johnson Kingsway in Mount Pleasant is an official partner. Use the promo code “latida” to receive a 10% discount on their already dirt cheap off-season room rates.

Massive thanks to our partners and sponsors at The Georgia StraightColor MagazineBeat Route Magazine, CiTR radioDiscorder MagazineHoward Johnson KingswayBudgies Burritos and Steam Whistle Brewery.

Tickets can be purchased online immediately on our website, and will be released in retail locations in coming weeks, but we recommend you don’t hibernate on these.

Come Fall Down/Get Down with La Ti Da! Hope to see you this November!
