Thank you!

Before we all keel over, or figure out what day it is, there is a list of serious thanks to give:

First and foremost, the most massive of credit to all the bands who came by planes, trains and automobiles to make this weekend happen. You had us in tears of joy and stitches of laughter, and luckily neither of the other kind. You constantly remind us why we’re so lucky to have such a great excuse to pull our pals together.

To our unofficial mascot and the man who provided the unofficial sound track to not one, but TWO nights of FD/GD 2013, Russell Quan, we wish you could stay forever!

Our deepest appreciation to The Biltmore Cabaret, The Astoria, Neptoon Records and The Electric Owl for being so damn hospitable, accommodating and supportive all along the way! Our party was so lucky to happen within your walls!

A giant acknowledgment to our media partners for their coverage: The Georgia Straight, Citr, Beat Route and Skinny Magazine! We can’t wait to see all the photos we saw you snapping. Thanks for telling people they should care about anything we do at all.

ALSO a thunderous cheers to our sponsor Coal Harbour Brewing Company! Quenching thirsts well into Monday morning!

All the light and love to Not Just Religious Music and King Dude for the literal lengths they went to getting from Europe to the Roky Erickson show. You’ll always be part of our LA-TI-DA Family.

A huge thank you to all our volunteers who shuttled bands around, did door, and covered merch to keep things moving. We literally couldn’t have done it without you, and you did it just to be a part of it. That’s a beautiful thing, from you magnificent people.

Crowsnest crew, you know how much we love you.

Honestly, the sheer altruism, help and support that collectively pulled this off was humbling. We are so very grateful.

A couple day’s hibernation, it’s back to business. Jay Vons 45s and Ballantynes EPs on the way to your mailboxes. The last batch of releases right behind.

Don’t call it goodbye, call it until next year….

Tim, Vanessa, Corey, and Dale!

The Jay Vons West Coast Weekend!

Here at L-T-D, we’re getting way excited about the upcoming Jay Vons 45! Cause for celebration, right? Right. Therefore, it was only fitting that we got the boys out west for a trio of release parties!

First stop? Seattle!

The Jay Vons jet-set into Sea-Tac this Thursday to play The Sunset with their friends Red Jacket Mine (fresh from their appearance at this year’s B’shoot) and The Tripwires (ex and current YFF, Model Rockets, and Mudhoney). Event details here.

Where to next? Friday night in Vancouver for a very specal edition of the East Van Soul Club:

For the ever-attending choir, ‘scuse us while we preach to the unconverted: September EVSC events go off like roman candles. And that’s without the double whammy of having The Ballantynes and The Jay Vons kicking the night off on Friday the goddamn 13th! TGIF, indeed. All the details are here. With school back in session and student loans being spent indiscriminately, this one is going to pack out early.

Finally, the event that got the whole ball rolling: this year’s edition of Rifflandia!

Now in its sixth (!) year, Rifflandia is taking place in venues across Victoria, BC, Thurs Sept 12-Sun, Sept 15th. Boasting an eclectic roster that includes Courtney Love, Big Boi, Edward Sharpe, DFA, and The Orb (for all you dancing types), this year’s fall classic continues to challenge the notion of Victoria’s rep as “home of the newlywed & nearly-dead” The Jay Vons headline our Saturday night showcase over at the Event Center. For those of you with wristbands or night passes: honestly, and without hyperbole, get down to the VEC earlier than later. This spot will have a line up down the stairs before you’re two beers deep. Special thanks to the folks at Atomique Productions for their care and support of this night!

It’s safe to say there’ll be a two day hangover in the wake of this one, so we’ll pair up those JVs pre-orders with the Maniac pre-orders and start getting them out to Singles Club Subscribers starting on Tuesday, Sept 17th.

We’ll check in with you all then as well…lots more news coming down the pike….until then!

FD/GD Warm Up Tonight at The Biltmore! One Night Only $30 Wristband Deal!

Unbelievable how fast this is creeping up! THREE WEEKS until we all fall down!

But tonight we have a party pitstop, The FD/GD Warm Up Party at The Biltmore Cabaret! We’ve got The Isotopes kickin’ off the night, as well as their tour, Dead Voices ready to make sparks fly, and for one night only, we’ll be selling weekend wristbands for the stupidly low price of $30.

While you’re counting down the hours between you and your ice cold pumpkin ale, quench your thirst on these killer FD/GD posters courtesy of Alex Stursberg (Mean Jeans) and Richard Chapman (Pointed Sticks) respectively!
